Dangerous factors of breast cancer that you can not control
Science does not yet know exactly what causes breast cancer, but we do know that there are certain factors that can cause it. age, genetics factors, personal health history and diet all play a role. some of them you can control and some you can not.
These are some of these factors that are out of your control
woman over 50 are more likely to get breast cancer than younger ones.
African-American woman are more likely to develop premenopausal breast cancer than white ones.
Large breasts :
If your breast have more connective tissues than adipose tissues, it is difficult to see tumors on mammography
Personal history of cancer :
If you have breast cancer, you are more likely to get cancer again.
Family history :
If a first-degree relative (mother, sister, daughter) has breast cancer, you are twice likely to get it.
Having two or more first-degree relatives with a history of breast cancer increases this risk by at least threefold.
this is especially true when your relatives have cancer before menopause or in both breasts.
this risk can also increase if your father or brother has breast cancer.
mutation in two genes (BRCA1 and BRCA2) are responsible for some cases of breast cancer in families.
about 1 in 200 women has one of these genes. although these two make you more susceptible to cancer, it does not represent certainly in cancer.
if you have a mutation in BRCA1 or BRCA2, you are 7 to 10 times more likely to get breast cancer by the age of 80.
Menstrual history :
if your period starts before the age of 12 or does not stop until you are 55, the risk is higher.
Diethyl acetylbestrol (DES) :
doctors used this drug to prevent misscarriage from 1940 to 1971.
if you or your mother has taken it, you are more likely to get breast cancer.
